The Sunflower

Image
You rise with the hunger of a thousand dawns,   gold spilling from your throat,   your face a furnace,   Your roots clutching the earth   like a child’s fist around a secret.   The sky leans down to listen.   You do not beg for light—   You command it.   Each petal a blade cutting through the gray,   your spine unbending,   even as the wind hisses through your leaves.   At dusk, you bow,   not in surrender,   But in devotion.   Your seeds are promises   whispered to the soil- "One day, I will stand this tall.   One day, I will burn this bright. Until then, I kneel beside you,   learning the language of light." © Meghna, 2025, All rights reserved.

Death: A Gentle Love Song

Image
You come like dusk, so soft, so kind, A whispered call—I leave behind All weight and pain, all tears and fears, To step into Your light. Not sad, not lost, Your love is the only home I’ve known. One last breath, then sweet release, A quiet hush, a perfect peace. The peace I have longed for so long! Oh Death, you’re not the end, but the final place, An ultimate Romance with my sweetheart, God! Oh Death, you’re just Love’s open door, Where hearts return, and ache no more. © Meghna, 2025, All rights reserved.

Flowers and God: My Divine Tapestry

Image
In fields of gold, where light descends,  A breath of heaven softly bends,  To touch the petals, delicate & bright,  A whispered divine hymn In morning’s light!   O Flower, child of sacred turf,  You are the fingerprints of God!  Each hue He dipped in celestial dew,  And brushed with love to bloom for you.    The rose, aflame with crimson fire,  Burning with the ardour of desire, Not earthly love, but purer still,  A testament to Heaven’s will.    The lily, robed in spotless white,  Stands chaste beneath the Lord’s own sight,  A mirror of the soul made clean,  Where grace and mercy intervene.    The daisy, humble, small, yet free,  Lifted up its face in ecstasy,  As if to say, "Rejoice! Be Glad!  The smallest things make God rejoice!"   And violets, in shadows deep,  Where weary hearts might pause to weep,  Are tokens of His tender care—  That even sorr...

My GOD!

Image
An earnest desire! Today I saw you, in the moring light, I saw you in the flitting birds, I saw you in the misty dew, I saw you in the nimbus clouds, Now I see you in these words, I see YOU where my sight goes, I feel YOU in every heartbeat. Don't ever leave me, All I have is YOU. My, GOD, never go out of my sight, out of my mind, out of my life. Amidst, all the earthly activities, pleasures or sorrows, All I want, is YOU. Never let conceit take over, never allow sorrow infect, never allow happiness to fuddle me, but stand firm only in YOU. You are my happiness, you are my food, you are the living waters, you are my all in all! Please GOD, never ever leave me. All I want is YOU. © Meghna, 2023, All rights reserved.

A Magical Day!

Image
It's a beautiful day... The tulips are thriving, Casting an intricate yet delicate spell and shade, melding with the soft green of the sage, smelling of fresh mint and sweet florals, A distinct fragrance... a scent that brings me home to myself, reminding me of who I am, giving me much-needed balance and peace! © Meghna, 2023, All rights reserved.

Once a Poet, Always a Poet!

Image
Once a poet always a poet, Universe is infallible, in it’s approach! A poet, In truth, Is introverted, Inhibited, So uses words to define, to ooze out what is stored within. Not to share, But to dispose, the heavy burden of, the overflowing thoughts and emotions, brimming in the, vast expansive space, of the lonely heart! When he cannot hold anymore, when the whimpering turns into wailing, A babbling procession of words, flows into a creeks and tributaries, A poet forever wears a veil, of pain and feelings, unexplored! So, no break or hiatus can hold, or let a poet go away, from words, infinite! © Meghna, 2022, All rights reserved.

Moon and Night

Image
Another scented enchanting night, when the full moon is in sight. She walks  with a veil of mystic light, with a hope of reviving senses to delight. As she treads across the lake, the silvery waters dance rhythmically to her steps, the singing birds celebrate the night, inciting a queer feeling to love and live.  Emblematic of the magical senses, this night is quintessential night of love untouched.  As she walks upon the ledge, exchanging oaths of promises to keep, the moon in sight celebrates the journey to embark. Infusing a sweet fragrance, the flowers proclaim, the moon and nights, will forever stay together, linked inextricably ! © Meghna, 2022, All rights reserved.

You and I

Image
O my heart, Both you and I, have dealt with books and beings, traversed the roads rugged, curvy and less known ! sometimes enervated, lost and defeated, other times euphoric, and triumphant. Both you and I, have witnessed seasons- tempestuous and arduous. Both you and I, have danced in seasons- filled with colors and scents, multitude. Both you and I, loved too deep, nourishing our own whims and fancies, not worrying too deep, consequences unknown. Till both you and I, sometimes returned hurt and tired, drenched in our self-generated pain, other times returned ebullient and fortified, drenched in self-generated seasons of love. Today, both you and I, sit together, watching the sunset, basking in solitude, in an uncanny languor. tired but yet hopeful. In this abundant world, there is no space for disdain, so let us rise  from our own ashes of experiences multifold, let us make room for hope ! © Meghna, 2022, All rights reserved.

Forest Therapy

Image
For me survival isn't about avoiding the harm, but to find the perfect craggy wilderness throughout. Not the wilderness of thoughts but of nature raw. Thriving in the primeval forest, populated with the swarming primordial trees. Shafts of sunlight warming the cool mossy boulder, On which I sit sonneting. Inhaling the woodsy and sassy scent of the dense pocket of trees, Twittering birds, my comrade !  Performing tricks innocent, to bring a smile ebullient on my lips. Carrying this deep-rooted biophilia with me throughout, an ancient bond with this forest, transporting in it whenever I seek equanimity, clarity , calmness and hope ! © Meghna, 2022, All rights reserved.

The Drink

Image
Make me a drink of stars, Steal them all, from the vast expansive skies. The bewitching skies, holding dreams infinite and unknown. Silver, green, crimson, white... pluck them all. Squeeze them into a magical elixir, and pour into that mighty silver chalice, standing tall and sturdy. Blend some adventure mysterious. Let the drink rumble and bumble, with the stories unknown. Sprinkle some stardust glittering, before it can go into me, quenching my ever-longing thirst, and fertilize my life in ways magical mysterious and unknown. © Meghna, 2022, All rights reserved.

The Ordinary

Image
Good at making arrangements to live, But not good at living. Sacrificing years for paper degrees, Working hard for the material. Constantly worrying about the future, Forgetting we are alive in the now, The only moment for us to be alive. Leading the normal is an average these days, It is all about extravagance, Out-doing, just to rush to the finish line. Normal is simple, very basic, unpretentious,  daily contentment and euphoria without the beating. Constantly in search of the thrills, just to escape day-to-day mundaneness. There is so much beauty in day-to-day ordinary, From the aroma of the local produce in the farmer's market, to the warmth of the morning sunshine, sitting in a cafe for hours, gazing at people come and go. The day-to-day life is an interesting canvas of perfection, Highlighting the beauty of the ordinary. It is not about leaving a legacy, but to love people deeply in every interaction, eating the daily food lovingly, laughing hard from the stomach, trying ever...

Rock

Image
Every Rock has a story of its own, Sedimentary, Igneous, Metamorphosis. Some are formed gradually solidifying by  life's challenges, in this boundless ocean of life. Others by facing intense pressure on the sediments, the sediments left by the erosive times of life. And the rest by constant collision, collisions unknown. Every Rock has a story of its own, All poets grow into rock, Few are soft and naive, Others are toughened over time, Very few are fortunate to turn, to turn into rarest of the rare - diamonds, outshining and reflecting light. What others give, they reflect it back. Every Rock has a story of its own, Few understand them, Others undermine them, But the rock stays strong and still, Becoming a prop for all, to rivers and tides, to the climbers and moss, saving lives till eternity. Not showing-off, but staying grounded, never to perish, giving support to all © Meghna, 2022, All rights reserved.

A Brief Reverie

Image
Today is a day, A day to visit the seventh heaven of rapture. So close your eyes gently, and enter into a brief reverie of relief. Open the heavy scent-laden box of  the myth and mystery, of the mountains. Mooning about on the wet pine-covered roads, Smelling fresh, sharp, and sweet. Inhale  the minty camphorous scent of the eucalyptus, The sweet sticky vanilla-scented rubber latex, The lavender smell of the mosquito repellants, The woodsy fragrance of the wet tree trunks with the damp moss. Deeply inhale the richness of the fragrant journey traversed,  Exhale the feeling of exhaustion earned from walking in the heavy wet terrain.  Now open your eyes-bright and descend to earth and sail smooth. © Meghna, 2022, All rights reserved.

Respect

Image
It has no caste, no color, no creed, In its lack,  Love turns into hatred, And in its presence, It blossoms more. Respect is the key to unlocking, The hidden jewels of heart. It resides in character, As an integral part!  The right upbringing gives respect to all. The wrong rearing knows not about it at all, forever drowned in  own pool of insecurities deep. Respect lifts each other up, shows what it is to be loved. When love prevails, Respect resides, To magnify it more. © Meghna, 2022, All rights reserved.

The Albatross

Image
This oldest nesting seabird is the most regal among all. Symbol of purity and perfection, It is the most faithful of all. Emblem of luck, success, and true love, They hold honor and dignity upright. Tapping and dancing to the rhythms of nature, They are the keeper of lost sailors' lives. Navigating all through the tough waters of sea and life, True love is alone for what they strive. Inhabiting the remote island of Galapagos, For the divine search of their lifelong lover. Hovering from one corner to another, Dancing in groups to find their forever mate. The wind is cold and sharp, The sky is cloudy and overcast, The magical moment strikes, When the male albatross sees his female one, And falls in love so deep. This connection is instant and forever, When they start rising together. These lifelong partners celebrate and marry on the dance floor, with every dance step filled with grace and love sheer. Booked for a lifetime, The most loyal pair stay together forever, nothing can separ...

Persecution

Image
With selfless love, Comes the persecution. With every blessing, Comes the opposition. Blessed are the ones, Persecuted for love, Persecuted for righteousness. Beaten and bruised, The aching heart, becomes the key, for the doorway to the heavens. This persecution- makes the path to God easier and clearer Your goodness that brought out their worst, Having suffered for your love and righteousness, Let not this affliction mellow down the spirits. With heads held high, Welcome the brand new day, With greater blessings. Be ready to handle all the blessings, Let HIM fight all your battles, Leave all the persecution to be lifted by HIM. © Meghna, 2021, All rights reserved.

My friend - Tea!

Image
“Some people will tell you there is a great deal of poetry and fine sentiment in a chest of tea.”–Ralph Waldo Emerson Tea my forever mate, Black, green, oolong, white or Pu -erh, Never fails to please me. Dreary days, Teary days, Days of cheerfulness, Days of success, The thought of a  cup of tea, Fills me with contented peace. Situations are never so bleak, For a cup of tea not to remind me a reason to gleam. Tea, The constant reminder of the Lord’s mercies on me. Sitting elegantly in the old encrusted stout teapot, Reminding of the endless conversations Of the past  Present  And many more to come. This calm-after-the-storm drink, has the perfect aroma  lingering the senses. These tea leaves, Make a fragrant bouquet for my life! © Meghna, 2021, All rights reserved.

Winter's Embrace

Image
In the deepest of winters, In the quest of searching for the invincible summer within me, Tucked up in the warm snuggly bed, This winter speaks to me! The smoky nutty aroma from the tall overflowing  coffee mug, Validates the winters-onset. The delectable cinnamon rolls, fresh from the oven, with warm melted butter oozing out, adds sweetness to the  deep bitterness of  the steamy dark brown coffee mug. Days are short now, Nights are long. A line of golden warm lively candles  stands tall and shining, lighting my room with the beauty unseen, adding radiance to the chamomile and chrysanthemum flowers  at the bedside. Driving away the cold darkness, The sweet scent of the pillar candles and fragrant flowers, Re-assures the sweet promises life holds. The dark days,  and the chilly nights, give the necessary break, to take stock of life. With the warmth, scent, food, and flowers, This loving winter's embrace, is a perfect therapeutic remedy, for setting t...

Liberation :)

Image
The sun and the moon, Told, to let them go, Not to hold on tightly, But let it loose. People come in and go from our lives, To fulfill a specific role. Like a tangy dressing  on the salad. Like a fertilizer,  for a glorious harvest. Few come to teach you passion, So you may realize, how it was like to be loved less and not full. Few come to teach you hatred, So you may value how others loved you with heart-full. Few come to test your patience, So you may dance to tunes of, past fun-times, And make the future bright and clear. Few bring along times magical, Just to make you realize how it is to live-full. Few come just to disrespect and bring tears, So you may know about their insecurities, And make your own shield strong. All come to teach, Good or bad, Just let them go, As each role gets fulfilled. Don’t cling onto people, But to the lessons learned. © Meghna, 2021, All rights reserved.
