A Brief Reverie
Today is a day,
A day to visit the seventh heaven of rapture.
So close your eyes gently,
and enter into a brief reverie of relief.
Open the heavy scent-laden box of
the myth and mystery,
of the mountains.
Mooning about on the wet pine-covered roads,
Smelling fresh, sharp, and sweet.
Inhale
the minty camphorous scent of the eucalyptus,
The sweet sticky vanilla-scented rubber latex,
The lavender smell of the mosquito repellants,
The woodsy fragrance of the wet tree trunks with the damp moss.
Deeply inhale the richness of the fragrant journey traversed,
Exhale the feeling of exhaustion earned from walking
in the heavy wet terrain.
Now open your eyes-bright
and descend to earth
and sail smooth.
