The Ordinary

Good at making arrangements to live,

But not good at living.

Sacrificing years for paper degrees,

Working hard for the material.

Constantly worrying about the future,

Forgetting we are alive in the now,

The only moment for us to be alive.

Leading the normal is an average these days,

It is all about extravagance,

Out-doing, just to rush to the finish line.

Normal is simple, very basic, unpretentious, 

daily contentment and euphoria without the beating.

Constantly in search of the thrills,

just to escape day-to-day mundaneness.

There is so much beauty in day-to-day ordinary,

From the aroma of the local produce in the farmer's market,

to the warmth of the morning sunshine,

sitting in a cafe for hours,

gazing at people come and go.

The day-to-day life is an interesting canvas of perfection,

Highlighting the beauty of the ordinary.

It is not about leaving a legacy,

but to love people deeply in every interaction,

eating the daily food lovingly,

laughing hard from the stomach,

trying every life situation tirelessly,

Making decisions that are just yours.

Living an ordinary life wholly,

is all that is about living.
